Today we had some friends over for a Bar-B-Que. It was a good time. I worry that our guests may have been bored from time to time. I was very tired from working in the house all day and from the long weekend. I still enjoyed the company of our friends and family. Many were invited but only some came. Those who were there were, Jonny, Mark, Steph, Malachy, Summer, Mom, Georgie, and Gretchen. It was a laid back time. The guys got a pogo contest started to see who could jump the most jumps. It was cute. Thanks for coming everybody!

i wanna be a rock star
Sunday, May 29, 2005
I was just thinking today about how I want to be a rock star. I have this thought quit often. If I could sing I really would want to be a lead singer in a band. Today I was thinking of what to call my make believe band. And I came up with the coolest name. At least I think it is the coolest name. Moaning Myrtle. Yep that's right. The girl in the bathroom in Harry Potter. That's my thought of the day.

my boy
Hello again. I just wanted to tell you guys about my boy. He is so awesome. Tonight I went to Target and normally Frankie does not like to go. He hates shopping. But tonight as I was leaving he asked me if he could come. He told me he wanted to come because he never goes with me. He was such a gentleman. He got the cart for me, he carried my purse, and he carried the bags to the car. I didn't ask him to do any of these things. He did it all on his own. I love my boy. I am so proud of him.
Me and my boy (and Madi too it's the most recent picture I have of him.)

Just click on Yahoo! Music Exclusive Interview. They also have another video on there called the Cayman Islands which is also a good video and great song.

Click the link and then hit "watch this movie."
I suggest watching it with subtitles. The song is Romanian (just like my little husband), if you were wondering.

the NOHO pledge
Thursday, May 26, 2005
Hello this is an article posted on the xxxchurch.org website. I wish all woman would read this and take the pledge. Especially Christian woman.
Hi. My name is Sydnee and I am the NOHO Spokesmodel. Mike and Craig have asked me to share my story of how I am discovering the joy of covering my butt cheeks and not showing so much skin. You see I use to go to Wet Seal and spend hundreds of dollars on clothes that made me look like my idols, Miss Pamela Anderson and Miss Christina Aguilera. I thought this would make all those pimp daddy want-a-be’s, otherwise known as boys, like me. The problem was they only wanted me for my body and not my inner beauty and my bubbly personality. So I am making a change for the better and taking the NOHO Pledge. Girls we need to stick together on this and show the boys that we are not objects but beautiful creations of God.
Take The NoHo Pledge I, state your name, promise to the best of my ability not to dress, buy clothes or act like a Ho. Clothes I should try to avoid buying or wearing: tight pants that are cut so low that when I bend over you can see my g-string or butt crack, tight half shirts that show my six or not-so-six pack, tight shirts that are low cut to show my cleavage or short shorts that you can see my butt cheeks in.
I know that God desires me to glorify him in all things and I realize that by dressing like a Ho, I only desire to give glory to me, not God. I also know boys have a problem with sexual things and I know that by not dressing like a Ho, I can be a part of the solution, not the problem!

Why the NoHo Pledge? 1 Timothy 2:9 says: "And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearl or expensive clothes." We know that the word NoHo may offend some, but we only came up with it after we were offended by all the young women who, well, look like Ho's.
We exhibit and minister at a few porn shows a year and we see a lot of women who wear practically next to nothing. In the porn industry, it's not shocking to see girls with no clothes on, it's almost expected. There may be many reasons for young women to dress as they do...one being to get attention, to show off their assets (literally) or because they have no good role models to show them how they should dress. This is why we created the NoHo pledge.
We believe there is only one role model that every young women needs to look to-God. He knows what is best, so why wouldn't you want to follow the lead of someone who knows what's up? The truth is that God desires women to be modest in their appearance. This is not only because your body is God's and it honors him when you actually do dress modestly. But, you should also be thinking about bringing glory to God, not glory to yourself by showing everyone your body.
Guys are very visual; we don't have to go into great detail about this because you would have to be living under a rock to not know this. But, why can't you help the boys out who are stimulated by girls on TV, in news, magazines and video games? Just to let you know, people will look at you and may think "Wow, she's hot"...but you gotta remember that some day beauty will fade and what will your husband or boyfriend be left with? If you have a nice body that you are proud of, thank God for it and move on. If you have such a great body, guys will still be attracted to you regardless if you are wearing a full-length sweat suit or nothing at all. Hopefully they will be attracted to something far greater than skin...your character and you as a woman of God.

curves
Monday, May 23, 2005
Hello. Well today I went to Curves to workout and I got weighed and measured today. For those of you who do not know I started Curves in March. Every month we get measured to see our progress. After my first month I only lost 1 pound and 1 inch in my waste and it's not even worth mentioning the rest. So anyway today was my 2nd weigh in. Since last month I have lost 7 lbs! I lost 4 inches in my waist, 1 1/2 inch in my abdomen, and I can't remember the rest but I lost inches everywhere except my thighs. My thighs go bigger! They are going to put my name on their biggest loser chart for this month too. So today was a great day for me!
Tomorrow I will be walking to Katie's house to baby-sit her kids. I am baby-sitting for her once a week while she goes to work. Her kids are so adorable (check out their pictures). They are so good too. I enjoy watching them very much. Jeff and Katie are amazing parents.
Thanks for visiting and Good Night.

church, home depot, and chipotle
Boy this blogging sure takes a long time to get started. Scott and I worked on it a lot today. We put up pictures, names, and brief descriptions of people who I will no doubt mention and talk about often. They are my favorite people in the world. My family and friends. I apologize to any of you who do not like the picture we posted of you. I had to use whatever ones we had on our computer. Our scanner is broken. In time I will update the pictures.
Well today was a long day. It was a good day though. The weather was beautiful. We went to church this morning. It was pajama day in Promisland (Sunday School) in Emily's class. She was so excited. Scott and I spent a lot of time on getting this blog started. We also walked to the Dairy Queen with the kids. Than we went out to the Home Depot to buy shingles for roof on our shed. After that we went out to dinner at Chipotle. When we got home Scott went straight to work on the roof of our shed and finished it. My husband is quit the handy man. While he did that I took care of and spent my time with our kids.
Well it is late. I just wanted to post something before I went to bed. Thanks for visiting.

My first post
Sunday, May 22, 2005
OK, this is my first post. Since I am just getting started I will need some time to get things up and running. I can start by telling you a little bit about myself. I am 27 years old. I have been married to my husband Scott for 8 years. We have 3 children together. Emily Mae (8 years old), Frank Robert (7 years old), and Madison Jane (almost 8 months old). I am a Christian and go to Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, IL. We just bought a house in East Dundee and we LOVE our new home. Oh yes, and we have a cat named Pippy. That's it for now. Good Night!
